Clarissa and Seg’s Flagstaff Wedding

I had a feeling Clarissa and Seg’s wedding was going to be fun and it definitely lived up to my assumptions. You’ll find that out for yourself if you scroll through all the photos. A lot of things happened on their wedding day. They had their ceremony at the Flagstaff Federated Church downtown, and then their reception was at the High Country Conference Center. I love the High Country Conference Center for the architecture alone.

The church was absolutely beautiful, and I actually didn’t even realize the history behind the building until shooting this wedding.

The High Country Conference Center has this awesome little fireplace in their lobby, so Matt and I decided to utilize it for a ring shot and incorporate the reflection of the fire. It turned out better than we thought since we were just experimenting.

Clarissa is gorgeous!

You’re killing me with that architecture, High Country Conference Center!

I love when our couples do a first look. The photos always turn out so sweet.

The property surrounding the Flagstaff Federated Church is so pretty. I love the old buildings in the area.

The happy couple!

It was an insanely windy day for their wedding. In fact, it’s been on and off windy in Flagstaff for a few weeks now with gusts up to 50 MPH. I wanted to take a photo of Clarissa and Seg standing outside the church. But while they were there, suddenly Clarissa’s veil flew off and Seg went running after it. Such an adorable moment!

Yes, there were throwing stars at the wedding because Seg got his groomsmen throwing stars as a part of his gift to them. It was funny watching the bridal party practice throwing stars when we had a few moments to kill.

I just had to include this wacky photo of Cory, one of the groomsmen. I have no idea what he was doing because it was Matt that took this photo. But either way, it makes me laugh.Matt took this photo also and according to him, Marcus, the groomsman on the far right said, “Penis flowers?” after I had them all hold the girls’ bouquets for me. Then Matt said, “Yes, penis flowers. Let’s get a photo of that.” Matt said that Seg was trying to be appropriate and was resisting but unfortunately for him, my husband and second shooter is always for the inappropriate whenever the opportunity presents itself.:)

Such a fun bridal party!

Clarissa loves Disney and I personally love how she incorporated it so much into her theme. I actually found myself singing a ton of different Disney songs as I was editing these photos.

I love the tender moments in the two photos above. The first is of Clarissa’s Uncle Leonard saying the prayer which he did so in Navajo. I didn’t understand a word of what he was saying but the moment was so powerful, even I got teary. Fortunately for me, no one cares or looks at the photographer, so hopefully no one noticed. And the father-daughter dance is always so sweet.

The dance floor was jam packed and we had a few Michael Jackson enthusiasts.

Another thing I loved about Clarissa and Seg’s wedding was their DJ. He was really on top of things and super professional, but I really liked that he did a lot of things to get the guests involved in the entertainment and make the night more fun overall. We usually don’t have a ton of reception photos at the end of a wedding, but because the DJ had so many things going on, we had a ton to cull through for this one. It took forever, but it was worth it. He arranged for the guys at the wedding to sing to Clarissa while in sunglasses and it was hilarious.

Congrats, Clarissa and Seg! We had so much fun at your wedding and can’t wait to see you guys again, hopefully soon.:)
