COSMO, THE HOWLER

Cosmo is a funny little Maltipoo because when he gets excited, he literally can’t contain himself. He’ll get so excited sometimes that it becomes impossible for him to sit still. I’m not joking. There’s been times in the past when Matt and I have tried to force him to sit still when he’s in these excited moods by commanding him to Sit! and then Stay! He will sit and he will stay but he’s so excited that he literally starts trembling. It’s not like he’s scared. It’s more like a ahhhhh-I’m-so-excited-I-can’t-stand-just-sitting-here tremble.

One day when Matt was at work and I was at home doing somethings around the Internet, Cosmo got into one of these excited moods. He started to run from one end of the house to the other barking and then lying on his back and rolling around on the floor. I’m used to this kind of behavior, so it didn’t phase me whatsoever. I just let him do his thing until I knew he would eventually tire himself out. During his excitement blip, I got up and stretched. When I stretch, I make this weird, screechy noise which is something that I’ve done since I was little. I’ve seen other people do this too which is good because it makes me feel like less of a weirdo. In the midst of my stretching and making this high-pitched noise, Cosmo suddenly started to howl. He was already in such a I’m-so-excited-I’m-going-to-explode fit that hearing that noise I made inspired him to start howling. It was the most funny, yet adorable thing I had ever seen him do.

I had to get him to do it again on video so that I could show Matt. Making my stretching noise didn’t work so I started howling myself. The majority of his howling happened during my stretch, so I didn’t get a whole lot of video. But I did manage to capture a small clip of me howling at Cosmo, trying to get him to howl with me.

Sorry about my howl which is definitely neither funny nor adorable. More like annoying.
